honeygirl's "true name" is honeygirl flowers & more. And I do provide more. After all, that busy little bee pollinates flowers, but she also "writes" her way through the sky, and loves helping others, too.
Flowers are my biggest focus at honeygirl. If you want something simple...like a fresh bouquet for a friend, or a gorgeous centerpiece for a holiday table, I can create just that one item for you. I love doing small events like showers, retirement dinners and corporate meetings, and can also create weekly arrangements for restaurants. Of course, weddings are a focus, too. Besides obtaining flowers through online and local wholesalers, I have developed relationships with local flower farms. Their flowers are sustainably grown and often cut just days before your event. When we consult, I can share local flower options you may not have considered.
When I was a senior in high school, my parents gave me a calligraphy book for Christmas. This started an obsession with lettering and font styles, which I started noticing and copying from many sources. I enjoy lettering envelopes and also creating signs for events...even matching the sign to your invitation if desired. In an era of computer generated text and minimum "snail mail", getting a beautifully lettered envelope in the mail is an elegant statement and a special touch for your event.
workshops for children...
With thirty-five years of experience as a classroom teacher, maybe it was inevitable that I would combine my love of teaching with my love of flowers and start offering flower and nature programs for kids. You can check out the Camp Bloom page of this website to see the fun we have had to date. However, I am also available to create special parties, events, and workshops in customers' homes. How can I help you create a memorable moment for your child? Floral birthday tea party anyone? Please contact me through email, phone, or the contacts page on this website to explore the possibilities!
And finally...DIY "support", too!
You are intrigued by the thought of doing your own flowers, but a bit nervous about it. You are smart to be feeling both! We all love the pride and personal touch of doing something ourselves for a very special event, but there are professional floral designers for a reason...it takes knowledge and skill to handle natural products correctly in order to get beautiful results. I’d love to consult with you, so you can get as little or as much help as you need to do some of those florals yourself, but also feel relaxed and confident as event day approaches.
