Let's create a memorable wedding...

Meet the team...

honeygirl is often a small operation, but when it comes to larger events, like weddings, I have several talented friends who step in to help. Mel Titus has an art school background and is a professional potter. As an avid gardener, she has a keen eye for designs that echo nature. After years of making boutonnieres for her precious sons, she is a master of these tiny beauties.
Garry Lacombe is trained as an interior architect. He has an amazing eye for color and design and does high-end staging in the West End around Christmas time. He believes in personal touches with a sense of whimsy! Garry also works with friends who own a local inn that does events, so he is knowledgeable about event planning.

That personal touch...

I choose to do one wedding a month, in addition to smaller events, so your wedding will receive a great deal of my time and attention. This allows me to remain excited about each wedding I do. For me, flowers are personal and the best weddings are, too. If you have a family member or a friend who is a gardener, I can work some of those flowers into our designs. Objects and photographs that are special to you can be added to table arrangements and displays.  Perhaps your grandmother collects cake stands. Those make a wonderful base for centerpieces. Would you like to have a small hand in your own bridesmaids' bouquets? Many designs can be created with just a bit of "tutoring". So, gather a small crew and come to my house on the Thursday or Friday before the big day, and we will drink mimosas and make bouquets!

How it works...

Picture
So, you decide you might want to use honeygirl...now what? Get in touch with me through my contact page or by phone. I will send you a detailed questionnaire that helps to get both of us thinking about your wedding. You can also text me up to twenty pictures that inspire you. I will use all of this information for an initial consultation.  I will work ahead of time to create a slideshow of wedding floral ideas to present to you, and we will spend at least an hour discussing your special day. Also, if you know your venue, I will visit it (if it is fairly  local) to take photographs and get some more ideas about how flowers might work in that particular space.  At the consultation, we will decide on what floral pieces you what to include, as well as talk about flower choices, until we have a possible plan for your event. Following that I will contact vendors to get you the best price for the flowers themselves and send you an estimate.

Does it have to be expensive?

Picture
Budget constraints are the bane of every bride's existence. And, there is no denying that just purchasing flowers is expensive. However, there are many ways to have a beautiful event without breaking the bank. Working with local flower farms gets you the freshest flowers without the cost of a middle man. These flowers are often cut just the day before and put immediately in water and refrigerated... compared to larger wholesalers who fly in flowers that are sometimes boxed dry and spend time in non-refrigerated UPS trucks before being delivered to the arranger. Using some homegrown flowers (with proper handling and conditioning) can help with costs, too. There are also many ways to use flowers in creative displays that catch attention, but don't require as many blooms. This is something we can discuss at length during a consultation.

And one last thing...

I also do lettering! If you want to add an elegant and thoughtful touch to your wedding, try sending hand-lettered envelopes or welcoming guests with hand-lettered signs and seating cards. I can customize these in many styles and colors.

We can never thank Andrea enough for all of her floral work and calligraphy for our wedding day! She not only created gorgeous centerpieces for eighteen tables, but also designed beautiful, hanging floral hoops, swags, aisle lanterns, and other arrangements while still managing to grace our signs (and even our cake!) with lush blooms to make our garden theme really pop. On top of all that, she hand-lettered each of our 150 personalized invitation envelopes! Throughout the entire planning process Andrea was communicative, creative, and most of all, fun! We will definitely be calling on honeygirl for all of our future event needs! Thank you, Andrea!
