Meet the team...
That personal touch...
I choose to do no more than one wedding a month, in addition to smaller events, so your wedding will receive a great deal of my time and attention. This also allows me to remain excited about each wedding I do. For me, flowers are personal and the best weddings are, too. If you have a family member who is a gardener, I can work some of those flowers into our designs. Objects and photographs that are special to you can be added to table arrangements and displays. Perhaps your grandmother collects cake stands. Those make a wonderful base for centerpieces. Would you like to have a small hand in your own bouquets or centerpieces? Many designs can be created with just a bit of "tutoring". So, gather a small crew and come to my house on the Thursday or Friday before the big day, and we will drink mimosas and make bouquets!
How it works...
So, you decide you might want to use honeygirl...now what? Get in touch with me through my contact page or by phone. I will send you a detailed questionnaire that helps to get both of us thinking about your wedding. You can also text me up to twenty pictures that inspire you. I will use all of this information for an initial consultation. I will create a slideshow of wedding floral ideas to present to you, and we will spend at least an hour discussing your special day. Also, if you know your venue, I will visit it (if it is fairly local) to take photographs and get some more ideas about how flowers might work in that space. At the consultation, we will decide on what floral pieces to include, as well as talk about flower choices, until we have a plan for your event. Following that I will contact vendors to get you the best price for the flowers themselves and send you an estimate.
Does it have to be expensive?
Budget constraints are the bane of every bride's existence. And, there is no denying that just purchasing flowers is expensive. However, there are many ways to have a beautiful event without breaking the bank. Working with local flower farms gets you the freshest flowers without the cost of a middle man. Using some homegrown flowers (with proper handling and conditioning) can help with costs, too. There are also many ways to use flowers in creative displays that catch attention, but don't require as many blooms. This is something we can discuss at length during a consultation.
And one last thing...
I also do lettering! If you want to add an elegant and thoughtful touch to your wedding, try sending hand-lettered envelopes or welcoming guests with hand-lettered signs and seating cards. I can customize these in many styles and colors.
We can never thank Andrea enough for all of her floral work and calligraphy for our wedding day! She not only created gorgeous centerpieces for eighteen tables, but also designed beautiful, hanging floral hoops, swags, aisle lanterns, and other arrangements while still managing to grace our signs (and even our cake!) with lush blooms to make our garden theme really pop. On top of all that, she hand-lettered each of our 150 personalized invitation envelopes! Throughout the entire planning process Andrea was communicative, creative, and most of all, fun! We will definitely be calling on honeygirl for all of our future event needs! Thank you, Andrea!
